GEMS is offered at no cost to elementary, junior high, or high school students who are current 3rd-10th graders (rising 4th-11th graders). Students who complete each day of the in-person program earn an educational stipend. Students complete one session of GEMS per summer.



MODULE DESCRIPTION ELIGIBILITY
Planetary GEMS Investigation of geology, oceanography, and meteorology. 4th-5th
graders
Neuroscience GEMS Investigate the anatomy, function, and development of the central system and the brain. 6th-7th
graders

Biochemistry GEMS

Exploration of chemical processes and reactions occurring in living things and experimentation in chemistry and biology. 8th-9th
graders
Agriscience GEMS Examination of the application of science to agriculture and develop an understanding of human relations, communication, and the importance of agriculture to the economy. 10th-11th
graders
