GEMS Student Opportunity
The GEMS 2027 student application will open in early Spring.
For questions about the USAARL Fort Rucker GEMS program, please email usarmy-usaarl-stem@health.mil.
For questions regarding GEMS programs at other locations, please email armystemoutreach@gmail.com.
GEMS is offered at no cost to elementary, junior high, or high school students who are current 3rd-10th graders (rising 4th-11th graders). Students complete one session of GEMS per summer.

| Simple Machine GEMS |
Exploration of basic engineering techniques to build, test, and evaluate simple machines. |
4th-5th graders |
| Forensics GEMS |
Investigation of problem solving, engineering, physics/force of motion, and forensics techniques. |
6th-7th graders |
Robotics GEMS |
Building and programming robots to maneuver and conquer different tasks using VEX engineering, design, and programming. |
8th-9th graders |
| Medical GEMS |
Investigation of the physiology of various human organ systems and exploration of various healthcare professions. |
10th-11th graders |
