Overview
The Department of Defense Historically Black Colleges and Universities & Minority-Serving Institutions (HBCU/MI) Summer Research Internship Program is a STEM-education opportunity supported by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. The U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory participates in the DoD HBCU/MI Summer Research Internship Program.
The DoD HBCU/MI Summer Research Internship Program pairs undergraduate and graduate HBCU/MI students and recent graduates studying STEM disciplines with DoD scientist and engineer mentors who engage the students in research activities and prepare them for careers in STEM fields important to the defense mission. The program aims to provide a bridge between the classroom and real-world experiences and increase the number of minority STEM professionals in the DoD.
